Roman Golovchenko: Belarus is doing its utmost to facilitate Russia-Ukraine talks

Belarus is doing everything possible for the Russia-Ukraine talks to happen, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said during a meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers.

"Given the situation we should take measures to ensure the military and economic security of the state, the stable functioning of the economy, the peaceful life of citizens. After yesterday's exhaustive speech by the Head of state, who gave a clear and unambiguous response to all the speculations and provocations regarding the involvement of Belarus in the Russian special military operation, the flow of fake news and outright lies by the anti-Belarusian forces aimed at inciting the Belarusian-Ukrainian enmity, belittling the actions of Belarus to facilitate a peaceful settlement has intensified as if on cue. I would like to emphasize that Belarus is now the only country in the world that has really done something to try to reconcile the parties. This is not just about providing the venue for negotiations," Roman Golovchenko said.

In his words, the Belarusian side, primarily the Head of state, did a lot to facilitate the first meeting of the Russian and Ukrainian delegations . “Today we continue doing everything possible for the second round of negotiations to happen. At the same time, the anti-Belarusian forces keep trying to drag us into this conflict,” the Prime Minister said.

He emphasized that the collective West is imposing new large-scale restrictions on financial, industrial and other sectors of both Russia and Belarus.
