This was stated by Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov at a session of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers.

"Decree №48 in Belarus establish a monitoring mechanism for conformity of products entering the domestic market, the requirements of technical regulations of the Customs and the Eurasian Economic Union, formed a system of responsible bodies of state supervision over the observance of these regulations in the consumer market in the relevant areas", - Andrei Kobyakov said. Thus, the State Committee for Standardization is responsible for compliance with the technical regulations, the Ministry of Health - sanitary and epidemiological and hygienic requirements and procedures, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food - the requirements in the veterinary field, to ensure the quality of grain and animal feed, food raw materials and food products, the Ministry of Trade - in the field of consumer protection, the Ministry of Emergency Situations - in the field of fire and industrial safety.

Andrei Kobyakov noted that the process of bringing legislation into line decree №48 is ending. According to the results of the previous session of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers, which examined a similar theme, approved and implemented a plan for the years 2015-2016 on the interaction of state bodies to identify consumer products that do not meet safety requirements, and the specs. The Prime Minister said that the State Committee for Standardization revealed violations of conformity with technical regulations in 72% of tested products. "At the end of 11 months of inspections Gosstandard checked more than 20.5 thousand. names of different kinds of products, of which 72% identified certain violations", - Andrei Kobyakov said. According to him, it was banned the sale of products worth nearly Br63 billion, for nearly 5 thousand. protocols on administrative offenses were accounted, imposed fines amounting to more than Br16,5 billion, issued 58 orders for the termination of the territory of Belarus documents confirming compliance with the technical regulations of the Customs Union and 66 orders banning the importation and circulation of hazardous products in the country.

Andrei Kobyakov noted that 49% of the identified violations of imported products concerned inconsistencies in the labeling information for the consumer, 25% - lack of documents certifying the quality and safety, 14% - non-compliance to the specs of the goods, 12% - non-compliance with safety requirements. "Basically it concerns goods for children and teenagers, furniture products, light industrial products, toys," - he concluded.
