Andrei Kobyakov met with the Minister of economy of Serbia Zeljko Sertic

Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov on 30 March met with a delegation of the Republic of Serbia headed by Minister of economy Zeljko Sertic.

The sides discussed prospects of development of trade and economic cooperation, the conditions of implementation of joint projects.

"We attach great importance to the development of Belarusian-Serbian relations, said Andrei Kobyakov. – We welcome dialogue between countries on the high and highest levels. From our side we will do everything in order not only to maintain the achieved level, but also to raise it to a higher stage".

Trade and economic cooperation between the countries in recent years have intensified. "In relations between Belarus and Serbia, despite some difficulties in the economies, the growth of trade, reminded the Prime Minister. - Last year we reached the quarter of a billion dollars of the trade turnover. It is the result of our joint work". Created a solid legal base of cooperation, the key element is the intergovernmental agreement on free trade.

Belarus counts on long-term cooperation with Serbia and is interested in implementation of mutually beneficial joint projects. Among them - creation of international holding companies, joint production of automotive and agricultural machinery. "This organization supplies to the Serbian market of Belarusian trucks, agricultural, mining, passenger vehicles, cooperation in the field of agriculture, we are also interested in developing partnerships in the pharmaceutical sector, many other areas," said Andrei Kobyakov.

The Prime Minister conveyed the greetings and invitation to visit Belarus the President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia Alexander Vucic.

"I sincerely hope for the successful continuation of the Belarusian-Serbian cooperation, the strengthening of mutually beneficial contacts", - concluded the Prime Minister.

In turn, Zeljko Sertic thanked the Government of the Republic of Belarus and personally Prime Minister for the warm reception and hospitality. Serbia is interested in developing mutually beneficial cooperation with Belarus, he stressed.
