Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov on April 15 met with a delegation of the Ivanovo region of the Russian Federation headed by Governor Pavel Konkov.

Discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of engineering, industrial cooperation, agriculture, construction and other fields.

Andrei Kobyakov noted that the direct connection with the subjects of the Russian Federation are the basis of trade and economic relations between Belarus and Russia. "It is the Foundation of our relations," he said.

Ivanovo region for Belarus is a long – standing partner. "Even in the current difficult economic conditions, the volume of our mutual trade turnover is not so great, a little less than $ 100 million.USA, but we hope very much that we will be able to find the opportunities to significantly improve. Moreover, the dynamics of this year suggests that it is possible to hope for a positive result", - said the Prime Minister.

He proposed to discuss those areas that will expand trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and the Ivanovo region.

One of the priorities of bilateral partnership is the engineering. "We can offer our Ivanovo partners a wide range of engineering products, virtually the entire spectrum, stressed Andrei Kobyakov. It is and agricultural equipment, and passenger, utility, road construction and quarry equipment. We know that all that is sought in the Ivanovo region". Also Belarus is ready to supply equipment for the production of food.

"We have developed chemistry, and you too are going, we know, a number of areas, to upgrade. Today let's talk about it," said Andrei Kobyakov.

In his view, good opportunities exist for development of mutually beneficial partnership in the sphere of light industry. "Bellegprom" is interested in developing cooperation with colleagues from the Ivanovo region", - said Andrei Kobyakov.

Another promising area for cooperation is agriculture. In the Ivanovo region has adopted an ambitious programme of development of agriculture and regulation of market of agricultural products, raw materials and food. "We hope very much that our tractors, grain - harvesting equipment and will serve for the implementation of this program, he said. - We are ready to participate in any competitive conditions, to offer your technique. We know her potential, she's competitive, and we expect that you will pay attention to it when making choices."

In addition, Belarus is ready to offer good projects for passenger, bus technology gas engine. "This is one of the leading trends in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus," said Andrei Kobyakov.

According to him, the parties have significant potential for the development of industrial cooperation. As an example of such interaction, the Prime Minister cited the partnership of the Ivanovo crane factory with the Belarusian MAZ. In this connection the Head of Government invited to discuss other areas where the parties could substantially complement each other in the sphere of industrial cooperation.

Also Belarus is ready to share experience in the field of dairy industry. "We are at your service and on dairy farms and equipment, and the experience of exploitation and construction of many of the issues we were to share with you," said Andrei Kobyakov. He also invited the Ivanovo region to participate in the international specialized exhibition "Belagro".

In turn, the Governor of the Ivanovo region thanked the Government for the warm welcome. "Our common genetic roots should allow us a fairly easy to agree on many issues," said Pavel Konkov.​
