The Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov met with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.

The meeting precedes a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union state, which takes place may 12 in Mogilev.

"We hope that today we spend the day fruitfully, saturated, and this will contribute to further developing our trade and economic relations", - noted Andrei Kobyakov.

According to him, Mogilev which is hosting the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union state is an important city in the history of Belarus and Russia. "And it is important not only from the point of view of historical events, today the city of Mogilev is one of the flagships of the Belarusian-Russian cooperation: many projects, both from the Belarusian and Russian sides. We are glad that you supported our proposal to hold a meeting in Mogilev", - said the Prime Minister.

In turn, Dmitry Medvedev welcomed the idea to hold a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union state in different cities of Russia and Belarus. "Now it is the turn of Mogilev. The first time we here, we here, I wonder, is the big Belarusian center with high external trade turnover with Russia", - he said.

Referring to the agenda of the meeting, the Prime Minister noted that it will discuss a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation.

"We are here today to discuss all the issues that affect the economy, the projects that we do, those trade issues, including energy and some others talk about plans for the future. Let's hope that the negotiations will be successful," he said.

In total, the agenda of the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union state 27 questions. Main unit - trade and economic cooperation. In particular, it will consider the action plan of the governments of Russia and Belarus on creation of additional conditions for the development of trade and economic cooperation from March 3, 2015. It is planned to discuss the preparation of the medium-term forecast of socio-economic development of the Union state, to consider the forecast balances of supply and demand for the most important products in 2016.
In addition, will be announced the results of the scientific-technical program of Union state "Development and creation of a new generation of mikrosystemtechnik and unified integrated dual-use systems based on it" for 2010-2014, and also reviewed the concept designs for the new five-year programmes.
