In line with Council of Ministers’ resolution #16, the National Fund of Technical Legal Acts in the Field of Technical Rate Setting and Standardization has been renamed into the National Fund of Technical Legal Acts. The resolution was adopted in line with decree #318 of July 16, 2007.
Belarus’ road industry has not established an enabling environment for attracting investors and developing motorways services, Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky said on January 15 during a session of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers focusing on the course of implementing the programme “Roads of Belarus”.
Belarus annually allocates 70% of the funds necessary for road maintenance. The Government passed Resolution No. 8 to approve the main targets of the socio-economic development forecast of the Republic of Belarus for 2008. The document sets out annual and quarterly targets for ministries, concerns, committees, oblasts and city of Minsk in 2008. Achieving the targets will help implement the national socio-economic development forecast for 2008 approved by President’s decree No. 656 of December 18, 2007.
Belarus has set up a directorate responsible for construction of the nuclear power plant. In line with resolution #1868 of the Council of Ministers the directorate is subordinate to the Ministry of Energy.
