Aleksandr Turchin on the prospects of the enterprises of the Ministry of Industry: the efficiency of work is at the forefront

Business efficiency takes the priority, Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin said as he introduced new minister Andrei Kuznetsov to the staff of the Ministry of Industry. Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko appointed Andrei Kuznetsov Industry Minister on 30 June.

Aleksandr Turchin wished the new minister success and noted that the most important thing is business efficiency. “The Industry Ministry as a regulator keeps an eye on all areas of activity of both the manufacturing sector and subordinate enterprises: production volumes and exports,” Aleksandr Turchin said, adding that under certain conditions, enterprises and the ministry can count on the comprehensive support of the Government.

Former Industry Minister Aleksandr Yefimov was sent to lead the AMKODOR holding company.

“This is one of the most important enterprises in the engineering industry in our country, which found itself in a very difficult situation,” the prime minister said. “By the decision of the president, who cares primarily about the people working at Amkodor, the enterprise came under the wing of the government. It has huge debt obligations that we will have to honor together. This is a very difficult situation.”

Aleksandr Turchin added that it is a matter of honor for Aleksandr Yefimov to bring the enterprise out of crisis. The task is to produce competitive goods and provide workers with decent wages. The government is preparing a regulatory legal act that will suggest a comprehensive approach to the problems of AMKODOR.

Speaking in general about the work of the industry, the prime minister also urged to optimize costs, reduce costs and diversify exports.
