Belarus’ Government discusses Naroch Lake resort area development

Belarus’ Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin held a working meeting to discuss the development of the Naroch Lake resort area.

The Government is giving priority attention to developing the tourism potential of the Naroch Lake area, viewing this territory as one of the key growth points for domestic and inbound tourism. To this end, a comprehensive development plan for the Naroch Lake area for 2026-2030 has been drafted and approved. The document covers a wide range of areas, including informational and event-based activities, measures to improve the material and technical base of resorts, the creation of modern tourism infrastructure, and the development of the Narochansky National Park.

Several investment projects are already being implemented in the Naroch Lake area at the health resorts Sosny, Priozerny, and Sputnik. Plans include the construction of specialized tourist accommodation facilities (fishermen’s lodges, hotel-type houses) as well as new food service establishments.

Special attention is being paid to the development of retail and food service facilities within the coastal zones of water bodies.

One of the key issues on the agenda is transport connectivity. To ensure comfortable and safe access to existing and prospective tourism and sports facilities (along the roads and near Lake Naroch), the government is considering the reconstruction of the Minsk-Naroch highway to provide faster access to the resort area.

In addition to infrastructure projects, active work is underway to improve the tourist infrastructure of the settlement of Naroch itself and to promote the Naroch Lake area brand both domestically and internationally.
