Growing output, new jobs: Shklov District ramps up production

Shklov District is expanding its production facilities, boosting milk processing and creating new jobs, Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin got familiar with the development of the district’s core industrial enterprises on 30 January.

The working meeting involved Head of the Belarus President Administration Yuri Nazarov, Mogilev Oblast Governor Anatoly Isachenko, and Chairman of the Shklov District Executive Committee Sergei Bartosh. Such close attention to Shklov District is not without reason: the President has set a clear task to overhaul production capacities. These include the Shklov Inter-District Agricultural Service Center and a modern milk processing plant. The Belarus President Administration is actively involved in shaping the district’s core enterprises. All of them are part of the state enterprise Kupalovskoye.

According to Aleksandr Turchin, today’s task is to summarize the results of the past year, review the district’s new capacities, and make appropriate management decisions.

The first stop on the working route was the Shklov Inter-District Agricultural Industrial Supply Enterprise. According to Yuri Kosenko, Chief Engineer of the state enterprise Kupalovskoye, they will be ready to receive the first equipment for repair by the end of February, as the spring fieldwork season approaches, and time is running out.

“We are now in the final stages of construction. By late February, we intend to start repair work in parallel with the builders finishing their work,” he said. “Our job is to help supply our farms with reliable machinery so that all tasks are completed both on schedule and properly.”

By mid-February, ten mechanics will begin work here. They will be engaged in repairing plows, combined soil tillage, and seeding units. All the necessary specialized equipment for this is available. “This winter is particularly cold, and such repair work on farms is usually carried out in unheated workshops. Our workshop, operating under the same conditions, will be able to increase the productivity of the farms and specialists, and reduce the repair time for necessary machinery,” Yuri Kosenko said. “For instance, we can repair 15 agricultural machines simultaneously.”

A mobile team is being set up for minor repairs. If the repair does not require moving the machinery to the workshop, specialists will travel to the sites themselves. The inter-district agricultural service center will repair the full spectrum of machinery: from implements to harvesters.

When the inter-district agricultural service center reaches full capacity, 45 people will be employed here. New jobs are one of the important aspects of development, not only for the enterprise but for the district as a whole. In the future, the inter-district agricultural service center will serve not only the enterprises and organizations of Shklov District. “We will assist neighboring districts and all those from the region who will reach out to us,” Yuri Kosenko said.

Another important facility for the district and the region is a modern whole milk products plant with a processing capacity of 300 tonnes of milk per day. Today, Work continues on the administrative building, with rapid progress on the main workshop, support facilities, and infrastructure.

According to Andrei Sekatsky, Director of Shklov Butter Factory, about 200 people work on the site daily. The work is proceeding without falling behind schedule. “At the moment, many issues have been resolved. We have already contracted for the supply of almost 100% of the equipment. It is already beginning to arrive,” Andrei Sekatsky said. “The new production floor space will allow us not only to increase milk processing volumes but also to expand the range and improve product quality. Additionally, 100 new jobs will be created.”

Besides reviewing the new facilities, the participants of the meeting discussed production issues of the Shklov District enterprises.
