Belarus, Uzbekistan preparing cooperation roadmap through 2030

Belarus and Uzbekistan are preparing a cooperation roadmap through 2030, Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich said during the main plenary session of the international industrial exhibition INNOPROM. Central Asia in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

“It is important to note that the Belarus-Uzbekistan trade and economic cooperation is gaining momentum. Our mutual trade consistently rises every year. This growth is based on the agreements reached at the level of the Heads of state during the official visit of the Belarusian president to Uzbekistan in February 2024, as well as on the effective implementation of the 2024-2025 roadmap. Assembly of BELARUS tractors with phased localization has been organized, along with the production of mounted and trailed agricultural equipment adapted to the region’s climate. In the light industry, a joint footwear enterprise is operating successfully, and cooperative clothing production has been established, combining Belarusian design solutions with Uzbekistan’s raw-material base,” the Deputy Prime Minister said. “A special place is occupied by the creation of a joint venture for the production of cable and wiring products in the Eltech Industrial technopark.”

Following the visit of the Belarusian Prime Minister to Uzbekistan, preparations are being finalized for a five-year cooperation roadmap for 2026-2030. The implementation of this document will aim to double the current indicators of foreign trade cooperation by 2030. Promising areas include combining competencies in the production of electrical engineering products and medical goods, deepening cooperation in the light industry, and introducing joint IT solutions, including the digitalization of production and technological processes and big-data management.

“Belarus reaffirms its readiness to continue strengthening trade and economic cooperation, expanding industrial cooperation, and implementing new joint projects within the Union State, the EAEU and the CIS,” Viktor Karankevich emphasized.
