Attending the international agriculture expo Belagro 2018

Belarus and Russia may discuss a mechanism for the exchange of electronic veterinary certificates at a meeting of the Belarus-Russia Union State Council of Ministers on 13 June, Belarus’ Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said as he attended the international agriculture expo Belagro 2018.

The head of government was reported on the testing of the mechanism for the exchange of electronic veterinary certificates with Russia. The first to use the mechanism were three Brest enterprises: Savushkin Product, Santa Bremor and Brest Meat Packing Plant. Since the launch of the project they have sent more than 70 certificates to Russia. “The meeting of the Belarus-Russia Union State Council of Ministers will be held on 13 June and we will discuss this issue again. We need a clear system to make sure deliveries are not interrupted,” Andrei Kobyakov said. He instructed to work out the mechanism of other Belarusian enterprises joining the system.

Belarus and Russia have agreed to synchronize Belarus’ national system for identification and traceability of animals and products of animal origin and the Russian Merkury system, Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Rusy said. “We have tested it with three pilot companies. All in all, about 400 enterprises will join this system,” he said. Work is now on the delivery of a certificate to a retail location, which will allow tracking the movement of goods at any stage, Mikhail Rusy added.
