Belarusian PM introduces new Deputy Prime Minister to Council of Ministers’ Office

Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin introduced the new Deputy Prime Minister for Construction, Transport, and Housing and Utilities Aleksandr Terekhov to the staff of the Council of Ministers' Office and relevant ministries.

According to Aleksandr Turchin, the new Deputy Prime Minister needs no introduction. “He worked for a long time in the Ministry of Housing and Utilities, serving as deputy minister and minister of housing and utilities. In recent years, he has headed one of the largest construction holding companies in our country,” he noted. “During his appointment yesterday, the President set out the tasks for Aleksandr Terekhov with extreme clarity and precision.”

The Prime Minister emphasized that among the new Deputy Prime Minister's strong qualities is a high speed of decision-making. “Most importantly, he has hands-on experience and knows the challenges facing the construction industry and the housing and utilities sector, and understands regional issues. I believe that all these areas will receive an additional boost with the arrival of Mr Terelhov," the Head of Government remarked.

Aleksander Turchin once again congratulated Aleksandr Terekhov on his high position and wished him success. “The Government and all colleagues will certainly lend you a shoulder if needed. We are counting on the coordinated work of our team.

Until now, Aleksandr Terekhov held the position of director general of the state production association Minskstroy. Prior to that, he headed the Ministry of Housing and Utilities for a number of years.
